Want someone else to do the carrier work? Full service is $349 a month plus $8 per employee. Our team enters every new hire, change and termination with your carriers and checks each monthly bill against your roster.
How the move works
You send three reports. We do the rest.
- Pull your census and elections. An employee census and a current benefit elections report from your admin screen. We’ll tell you which ones on the walkthrough.
- Send your plan paperwork. Rate sheets and SBCs for the plan year that starts January 1, plus your waiting-period rule.
- We load and check it. Roster, plans, rates and current elections go in. Signed waivers come over as records. You review everything before anything goes live.
- You go live on your date. Keep your old account open until you’re comfortable, then cancel it. Your broker and carrier contracts don’t change.

Switching questions
Who gets the free setup?
Any employer moving to Essentials or Full service from BerniePortal or another benefits platform that signs up by December 31, 2026. The $250 setup fee is waived. Partner-agency groups never pay setup.
Is BenefitsDock the same as BerniePortal?
No. BenefitsDock focuses on benefits: enrollment, waivers, new hires, terminations, continuation notices, bill checks and 1095-C codes. It doesn’t do recruiting, PTO or payroll. If you use BerniePortal for those, keep them in mind when you compare, and ask us on the walkthrough.
Do our employees have to re-enroll?
No. We load their current elections. They only need to sign in if you want them to enroll or waive online at open enrollment or when they’re hired.
What about our 1095-C forms for this year?
Tell us on the walkthrough. If you switch before year end, we can load the year’s offer and enrollment history so the 1095-C codes come from one place.
Is there a contract?
No. Every plan is month to month, and if you leave we give you an export of your employee and election records.
